• Post Calendar events - advertise your garage sale or open house. Or let others know about a cool event occurring in Portland, West Linn, or elsewhere. Site Visitors can view the Calendar but are not allowed to post an event.
• Better Neighborhood directory access -

• Get access to residents-only site content such as a Neighborhood Directory and Babysitter list
• Get contact information of new residents who don't yet appear in the paper version
• Let other Skyline residents have access to your most up-to-date contact information

• Get your own free blog [coming soon] - that's right, a free blog on this web site. You can use a blog in a variety of ways:

• Post comments about anything you want on the blog. Even upload photos.
• Promote your small business or volunteer activities
• Allow site visitors to post comments on your blog

2. Site Search functionality can be your new best friend

The site search functionality is very powerful. It's a lot like Google or Yahoo search, but results are limited specifically to information on the website.

• Example 1: Want to find out more about the pool: Type pool. A list of results will appear.
• Example 2: Want to see the latest meeting minutes but don't know where to go. Type meeting. Presto!
• Example 3: You know there's stuff going on at Mary S Young park that was posted onthe site, but you can't seem to find it. Type Mary S Young and you will get a list of calendar events at Mary S Young.

3. Use the Calendar

• The Calendar of Events will stay updated with all the latest happenings around the neighborhood, West Linn, and even the greater Portland area. It really depends on what events YOU and other residents decide to post. If you're not a Skyline resident but you still want to post events on this site, go right ahead.

4. Participate in the Discussion Forums

The discussion forums are a great way to share information with fellow residents. Here are some examples of new potential discussion forum topics.

• Contractor referrals: find out who's good (and who's not) for lawn care, plumbing, kitchen remodels, house painting, roofing, you name it.

• Start a neighborhood group or club: Do you want to start a neighborhood book club, wine tasting club, poker playing group, Bunco group, etcetera? Start a new forum topic to determine if there is any interest.
• Play groups, babysitter swapping: Hook up with other Moms that have small children.

5. Stay up-to-date on West Linn News

This site is updated every hour with new news postings from the West Linn tidings and (when it becomes available), the oregonian. Come here to read the latest West Linn news. Click on the Local News link at the top of the site header.
